Extend your car's lifespan by changing the engine oil.

Regularly changing the engine oil is a necessary step in vehicle maintenance. Engine oil is actually a lubricant for the engine. There are many different hardware components in the engine that push and rub against each other, and the lubricating function of the engine oil is essential to protect and clean all the friction parts in the engine.
Engine oil will begin to lose its lubricating properties after about 10,000 kilometers, and the metal parts of the engine will slowly release impurities, rendering the engine oil ineffective. Continued use may lead to accelerated wear or even damage to engine parts.
What is the function of engine oil?
lubricating
The primary function of engine oil is to lubricate engine parts that experience continuous friction. This reduces friction that can easily cause wear and tear on these parts.
cool down
Energy lost through combustion and friction between mechanical parts causes engine temperature to rise. Engine oil, by lubricating these parts, helps dissipate heat through the lubrication circuit. It can also assist coolant, which is used to cool specific parts of the engine.
clean
Although less known, engine oil's cleaning ability is fundamental. Tiny carbon deposits accumulate inside the engine and remain suspended. These may contain dust or combustion residue. Without engine oil, these residues can clog the engine and reduce its performance. The flow of engine oil continuously carries these impurities to the oil filter, where they are blocked and trapped.
Anti-erosion protection
Fuel combustion produces corrosive acidic substances that can damage the metal parts inside the engine. Additives added to modern engine oils can slow down this corrosion. However, over time, and with contact with oxygen, engine oil can oxidize and lose its anti-corrosion properties. This is why engine oil must be changed regularly.
seal
Engine oil can also improve engine sealing, more precisely, the airtightness of the pistons and cylinders. It forms a protective layer between various parts, sealing any possible gaps.
When is it necessary to change the oil?
Taking a common car as an example, the oil level may be depleted after every 10,000 kilometers, at which point it should be changed. If the owner is concerned about the oil level running low, it is recommended to check the oil level every 5,000 kilometers. Checking the oil level is simple: just pull out the dipstick, wipe it with a dry cloth, put it back in its place, and pull it out again to observe the markings. Normally, each oil dipstick has an "L" or a dot as a mark; the closer the oil level is to the mark, the lower the oil level. While checking the oil level, the owner should also note whether the oil is dark brown or even black. Normal oil is light yellow; the darker the color, the older the oil, which may have oxidized and become thicker, losing its intended function.
It is recommended to change the engine oil every 10,000 to 12,000 kilometers. Don't forget to replace the oil filter and air filter at the same time, as they are also parts that need to be replaced at the same time!
